Pastor Randolph James Mack, Sr., was born on September 7, 1956, beloved son at the late James and Sadie Mack, went home quietly to be with the Lord on Friday, December 4. Pastor Mack gave his life to the Lord during a New Year’s Eve service in 1980 and served the Lord at Simmons Memorial Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. William King.

During his teenage years, Pastor Mack had a passion for the Martial Arts. He won a number of state championships as well as in Canada. He fought professionally in various states. He was part of the Professional Karate Association. He also trained in New York and at one time won the Northeast Welterweight Championship Title.

Pastor Mack attended Baltimore City Public Schools. He started his career by working at the Walter P. Carter Center, then moved on to work at the Maryland Rehabilitation Center, Crownsville Hospital Center and before he retired, worked at Springfield Hospital Center as a Work Adjustment Supervisor.

Pastor Mack truly believed in Genesis 2:24, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” Pastor Mack and Sis. Rhonda Mack were joined in holy matrimony on October 3, 1987. Pastor continued to cleave unto his wife each and every day of their lives together.

After giving his life to the Lord, Randolph served as an Usher at Simmons Memorial until 1988 where he joined Manna Bible Baptist Church and served as a Youth Bible Study Teacher under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Brown. Randolph believed that the lord was calling him to preach.

In 1999 Randolph joined Pilgrim’s Way Bible Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Raymond Thornton where he received his license to preach on March 18, 2001. Pastor always had a passion to encourage the youth. Pastor Mack worked as the Youth Pastor and was also an Associate Minister at Pilgrim’s Way. Pastor Mack graduated from the Baltimore School of the Bible in June 2005. Pastor Thornton felt that the Lord was calling Pastor Mack to pastor his own flock and encouraged him to answer the call on his life.

On Sunday: November 19, 2006, New Beginning Bible Baptist Church (NBBBC) held its first worship service at Sinclair Lane Elementary School at 3880 Sinclair Lane Baltimore. In May 2007 following a five month stay at Sinclair Lane Elementary School, the Lord blessed New Beginning to move to 3030 Edison Highway, Baltimore, Maryland 21213. The building was dedicated to the Lord on Sunday, June 24, 2007.

Pastor Mack was strong and determined to serve with all of his heart. During his illness, he endured hardness as a good soldier. He would always begin morning service by saying “The Lord is good and greatly to he praised …” His favorite hymn was “We’re Marching To Zion.”

He was preceded in death by his siblings, James Mack, Jr., Glen Mack, and Jamesena Jennings.

He leaves to cherish his life, his wife, Rhonda of 33 years, four sons, Randy Jr., Mannuel, Jonathan, Daniel; one daughter, Elizabeth; two sisters. Ruby Cofield (Royal) and April Brown: three brothers, Roy Mack (Delores), Ernest Mack, John Mack (Sharon), two sisters-in-law, Charlene Bennett and Margo Preston-Scott (Michael); two brothers-in-law, Charlie Preston, Jr. (Carlis) and Douglas Preston (Yvette); six grandchildren, Christian, Zyonna, Jordyn, Alexander, Jonathan, Jr. (JJ), Alicia and Ryan; his devoted niece, Shandell Dey; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
